Song of the Year – Results!

The Song of the Year poll has attracted much debate in the past few days, but the poll is now closed, the votes have been counted and verified and the results are in!

2016-kaleidoscope

7. Love Yourself – Justin Bieber

I’ve always had faith in my followers, and I am as proud as ever with this outcome! Not a single person voted for JB, and he is where he belongs at the bottom! OK, maybe I am a bit too anti-Bieber, but anyway…

6. Fast Car – Jonas Blue

The remix of the 80s hit has been all over the charts in recent weeks, but blametheblogger users aren’t as much of a fan as I am, clearly.

5. I Took A Pill In Ibiza – Mike Posner

6% of the vote went to the bouncy tune from Mike Posner, but it couldn’t challenge the top 4.

4. Lush Life – Zara Larsson

Perhaps it was the underdog, but 14% of you thought Lush Life was the best song you’ve heard so far in 2016.

3. Stitches – Shawn Mendes

Amassing nearly a fifth of votes, Stitches was a popular choice but couldn’t quite make the top 2.

2. 7 Years – Lukas Graham

The pre-vote favourite, 7 Years was the favourite of a quarter of you and has been the most successful on the charts so far this year, but on the most important countdown, it just missed out!

And the winner is…

Light It Up – Major Lazer ft. Nyla and Fuse ODG

A massive 33% of you voted for this bouncy dance track by Major Lazer! It may not have been the most successful on the charts, or the top selling single, but when it comes to tunes that you really like to listen to, nothing beats Light It Up!

Final Results:

Light It Up – 33%

7 Years – 25%

Stitches – 19%

Lush Life – 14%

I Took A Pill In Ibiza – 6%

Fast Car – 3%

Love Yourself – 0%
