Christmas Playlist!!! 🎄🎧

Christmas Playlist!!! 🎄🎧

It’s been a while, but I’m back! After going on a successful expedition to find the missing Paul Pogba (who has since returned to his usual quality), I returned only to be almost-fatally struck on the head by a bouncy ball dropped by Loris Karius playing catch! However, now Jurgen Klopp has in turn dropped (see what I did there…) Karius, I  may finally have some time to catch up with what I’ve missed! In fact, since I’ve been gone, blametheblogger turned 4! More to come later… but first it’s the festive season (oooh) so to make sure you’ll have enough music to keep you going, here’s my probably rubbish christmas playlist! Disclaimer – none of these songs are christmas songs because they are usually really rubbish and overplayed 😂!

It’s the christmas playlist people! Probably rubbish but the first post idea I thought of so why not!

This song has been deleted from YouTube!!!!!!! But don’t worry, you can still listen on Spotify and iTunes, and it’s a really great tune which Calvin Harris also does the vocals for!

(I really don’t like James Arthur but I gotta admit this is a nice song)

September Playlist 🎶

September Playlist 🎶

The holiday month is over 😭 and now I’m back from the sun ☀️ and in cold old London. I’m sure every one else is feeling depressed as the back to work and school week is just around the corner… BUT there is one thing that’ll cheer you up! My September playlist is hear (pun on point)!!!

coollogo_com-2304061

Last month, I backed Closer by the Chainsmokers to reach number 1 – and it did! This month, I’ve got another sick selection of slick tracks that will make every journey to school 😡 at least a smidge more entertaining… So let’s get started…

Good Grief – Bastille

Watching through my fingers, watching through my fingers…

^^^ (meant to be me singing)

  • I can’t stop singing this song, and even though I might be a bit late on this one, it is still a tune and a half 👌. Bastille are one of my favourite bands and their unique sound is sooooooo cool, and this track is up there with Pompeii and Of The Night as one of their best ever in my opinion…

Believe – Mumford & Sons

Taken from their 2015 album, this song from four-piece Mumford & Sons is a great song, and is a really good track that isn’t known that well. I don’t even know if I believe Mumford have composed anything better than this! (see what I did there 😉)

Ain’t Giving Up – Craig David & Sigala

When I first heard this song, I was so excited! Craig David, whose music is my kind of thing (I still can’t stop singing When The Baseline Drops), and Sigala, whose tropical beat is summery and fresh, combining to create this masterpiece of a pop song! Play it on loop…

Kill ‘Em With Kindness – Selena Gomez

Okay, so maybe I’m a bit late with this one too, but anyway… The whole whistling-beat-drop-thing is really hot at the moment, and combined with Selena’s sharp vocals makes this a great song! Top quality tune right here…

Hula Hoop – OMI

So OMI is never gonna top the success of Cheerleader, but this song is up there – same smooth vocals and slick sax 🎷. This is a really classy, nice song that I listened to on the beach on holiday (miss it 😫) non-stop.

That’s How You Know – Nico & Vinz ft. Kid Ink & Bebe Rexha (HEY-HEY Remix)

Sorryyyyyyyy – I could only get a short extract of this song because of how many versions there are… If you want the full version, but slightly less clean, click HERE. Don’t worry, it’s on Spotify… Anyway, it’s a cool song, with tons of different people working pn it and it sounds polished and snazzzzzzy…

Girls Talk Boys – 5 Seconds of Summer

I don’t really like boybands – phew – but this is a not too shabby song from the new Ghostbusters film…

#tb 🔙 of the month: OMG – Usher ft. will.i.am

August Playlist – New Music Special 🎷

August Playlist – New Music Special 🎷

August is about to hit us – holiday month! For some smashing songs that you will never have heard before, you’re in the right place! These songs may not be topping the charts, but are the best of the as yet undiscovered tunes that I’ve managed to discover through intensive jamming… And mark my words, by the time my September playlist is out, these songs will be big…

This is by far and away my absolutely fave tune at the moment. Jason Derulo’s new upbeat, catchy tune is so awesome to listen to and I’ve had it on loop since I unearthed this little gem last night – it’s that good!

Final Song – MØ

Danish singer MØ often features on tracks like Major Lazer and Justin Bieber’s song Cold Water (my favourite and least favourite artists collaborating 😡) but now she’s released this epic song by herself and is definitely worth adding to your playlists…

Closer – The Chainsmokers ft. Halsey

They are probably the hottest producer duo right now and following up their unreal song Don’t Let Me Down they have followed it up with Closer, featuring Halsey, a male and female duo. It was only uploaded on YouTube yesterday, so it’s as fresh as you get, and I really love it – but it doesn’t quite top Don’t Let Me Down which I’m addicted to.

Golden Light – Madden ft. 6AM

This is an unknown song from two unknown artists!!! I found it lurking in the deepest, darkest corners of Spotify, but Nordic producer Madden’s super piano and electronic music combo coupled with the unique, engaging vocals of 6AM, and a catchy beat drop, make this a hidden gem that could go really big.

Nervous (The Ooh Song): Mark McCabe Remix

This song is so rare that I couldn’t find it on YouTube, but Soundcloud and Spotify both have it. It is a sweet remix by Mark McCabe of Gavin James’ beautiful song Nervous. The two Irishmen combine superbly to make a beautiful but upbeat song that I honestly can’t get out of my head!

Please Don’t Go – Joel Adams

Joel Adams is a 19-year-old Australian singer/songwriter who penned this song in under an hour four years ago! It topped a UK breakthrough artist chart in the last couple of months and will probably go big soon – it’s beautifully written and sung and is another classy tune.

So there you have 6 songs that you’ve probably never heard before, but are great additions to your list of top tracks ahead of holiday time!

Jonas Blue – Who is this guy?

Jonas Blue – Who is this guy?

Jonas Blue, or Guy James Robin, is an English producer who has made it big in 2016. His debut single was a cover of Tracey Chapman’s “Fast Car”, with Dakota on the vocals.

Jonas_Blue_Press

The song reached number 2 on the UK charts, only beaten by Zayn’s Pillowtalk 😡. It also reached the top of 17 international charts. It was a perfect example of his love of tropical house music, also featuring in music of Kygo, Felix Jaehn and Lost Frequencies. His adaption of the plaintive acoustic song that Chapman originally produced made waves in the music industry, and to date the song has been streamed a massive 300 million times on Spotify!

Jonas_Blue_-_Fast_Car

His follow-up single, ‘Perfect Strangers’, was released in June 2016, and was a smash hit straight away. It went immediately to number 2, and JP Cooper’s vocals add an extra dimension to the bouncy track. It is an example of Jonas Blue’s evident songwriting ability, to come up with, and produce, a song that is an instant hit.

So where next for Jonas Blue? He is associated with two record labels, Universal Music and Virgin EMI Records, and is sure to start working on an album after his tour finishes in September. His unique sound fills a void longed for by many on the UK music scene, and his love for tropical house sounds bodes well – the success of songs like Firestone, Cheerleader and This Girl show that people clearly like this type of music.

Check out the acoustic version of Perfect Strangers! It sounds sooooo good! 👌👍

July Playlist 🎧

July Playlist 🎧

Big news! I have finally worked out how to use emojis on my blog 😀 So now I can 😂, 😱 and of course 😁 any time I like! Hooray 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

But onto the post. Here are some great new songs that will get you in a summery mood… 🏝

Up&Up – Coldplay

This super new tune from Coldplay is their third release from their latest album and it is a classic, with summer vibes throughout it.

Give Me Your Love – Sigala ft. John Newman

Sigala seems full of big hits, and his latest tune is no difference. John Newman’s unique vocal provides the extra dimension that makes this song so great to listen to.

Middle – DJ Snake

This guy has become so big recently, and his latest song is the most mainstream pop song he has put out. It still has a funky beat, what DJ Snake is famous for.

This Girl – Kungs

French producer Kungs has remixed this track and it is now the bounciest, most infectious tune you’ll hear this summer.

Tears – Clean Bandit ft. Louisa Johnson

It may be getting a bit old now, but this song is still great and is really summery, and Clean Bandit and Louisa are a really good combo…

We Don’t Talk Anymore – Charlie Puth ft. Selena Gomez

Another great collaboration, and this is really catchy – I still haven’t got it out of my head 😖

Mama Said – Lukas Graham

Their second single may not be quite as successful as their first, but it is still a great song and is a really good listen…

Toothbrush – DNCE

Another follow-up single, and this is DNCE’s next song in the UK after Cake By the Ocean – it is really bouncy…

This Is What You Came For – Calvin Harris ft. Rihanna

This is an absolutely huge song that destroyed the charts, and for a good reason – it’s awesome!

Don’t Let Me Down – The Chainsmokers ft. Days

This is probably my favourite song at the moment, I can’t stop singing it… which is really bad news for anyone near me!

Capital Summertime Ball 2016

Capital Summertime Ball 2016

A break from the Euros coverage, and yesterday I was lucky enough to go to the Capital FM Summertime Ball at Wembley Stadium. 80,000 people watched 21 different artists and groups sing their biggest hits for 8 hours!

Summertime-Ball-2016

Little Mix opened the show with an energetic, professional set, and their new single, Hair, went down very well with the crowd. Lukas Graham followed, and they started with their big hit 7 Years. Their frontman, Lukas Graham, wore a football shirt and some baggy jeans! After a great first song, they followed with an unknown song before an upbeat cover of Love Yourself by Justin Bieber.

Years & Years performed their big hits and Olly Alexander looked at home on stage surrounded by his usual dance troupe. Jillionaire, one of the trio in Major Lazer, had a couple of great remixed tracks as well as playing Light It Up and Lean On. The Vamps were energetic, and Mike Posner performed his two great songs that really got the crowd going. Nick Jonas followed, before Will.I.Am brought out Lydia Lucy of The Voice, but they were two that didn’t sound too great.

The crowd really got going when West London trio WSTRN performed their song In2, and then Clean Bandit debuted their new hit with Louisa Johnson, Tears. The Swedish star Zara Larsson then sung Lush Life before being joined by MNEK for Never Forget You.Then, Jess Glynne had a 30 minute set in which she was absolutely faultless, getting everyone on their feet for ‘Don’t Be So Hard On Yourself’ and ‘Hold My Hand’. Then Nathan Sykes took to the stage, and for Over And Over Again he brought out Louisa Johnson again for a sweet duet. Sigala was then great – the DJ got everyone bouncing with his treasure chest full of big hits.

Then came the biggest surprise of the night – as a ‘surprise’ act, Capital brought out Dizzee Rascal who sent everyone Bonkers with some great hits. Ariana Grande followed, who was classy as she performed some tracks from her latest album. Then, Flo Rida was perhaps the best of the night, who sent the crowd wild with some rap-filled favourites. Craig David was up next, and his mixed set of his new hits and some seriously good old tunes.

There were plenty of tears as the Capital team announced Zayn had pulled out – not from me, don’t worry – but Tinie Tempah, now the new headline act, duly delivered, ending the night with some great songs.

Overall, it was really entertaining and the Capital team did a great job, as did all the artists and groups.
